Roofer in Reading

Reading sits just across the county line in Berkshire, and we cover it from our Hampshire base. It's a town with a lot of Victorian red-brick terraces, and those terraces come with slate roofs — which means a steady stream of slipped slates, chimney stack repairs and lead flashing work to keep them sound. It's the kind of older-roof work we do a lot of.

As well as the slate and chimney work, the flat-roofed rear extensions behind so many Reading terraces are a common call — old felt that's cracked and ready for a modern system. We cover roof repairs, slate re-roofs, flat roofs, chimneys and leadwork across Reading, and we'll give you an honest view of what your roof's got left in it.

Reading's Victorian terraces are the heart of the roofing work here. Their slate roofs are durable but not immortal — slates slip, crack or delaminate over the decades, and the chimney stacks that punctuate the terraced rows often need repointing or reflashing. It's careful, methodical work, and we take the time to match slates so a repair doesn't stand out.

Behind the terraces, the flat-roofed rear extensions are the other regular job — many still covered in old felt that's blistered, split or pooling water. A modern EPDM or high-performance felt system sorts them for years. Wherever you are in Reading, we'll come out and tell you plainly what needs doing.
